Sequins to me is the ultimate celebration fabric! From birthdays to weddings, New Year’s, Christmas, you can never go wrong with opting for sequins. I absolutely love sequins and have worn it a number of times over the years. (click HERE) Today, I am sharing ways in which you can wear it this season beyond. I am sharing two ways as a dress and as a blazer. My sequins dress is by Alexis which is available for purchase at Shopbop is via Rent the runway and my blazer which is actually a mini blazer dress is by Zara.
Sequins speaks for itself for my general rule of thumb when I wear sequins is to dial everything down. With my Alexis long sleeve mini dress, I decided on simple classic patent pumps. I also chose to keep my accessories at a minimum.
Wearing a sequin dress in a muted color like is gunmetal mini dress is perfect if you’re on the fence about wearing it. Wear pantyhose and open-toe sandals is another way to style this dress. A white coat would be perfect overcoat for this dress.
When I spotted this Zara dress at a local store, I knew I was going to wear it as a blazer. I love the sequin pattern and the color.
My velvet leggings are also by Zara and my sandals an old purchase from Stuart Weitzman. My clutch is by F & W Style.
Wearing a sequin jacket for a work holiday party is a great way to show up dressed without doing too much. Wear a satin cami underneath for work functions and just wear it like I did, for an after party or a holiday party with friends. I would also wear this for a New Year’s day party.
Let’s not forget the sequin skirt I wore HERE. It is a perfect way to wear sequin this season. My skirt is still available for purchase. I plan to restyle it for the holidays in the coming weeks.
