what to wear to your next holiday event

How are you doing? I am switching things up a little bit as we get closer to the Holiday season. I will be featuring an extra fashion post every week to give styling advice/tips for your next special event. I am starting this series with this off shoulder dress I wore for a recent event. If you follow me on Instagram then you must have seen this dress. This gorgeous dress can be worn year round. Just throw your coat over it during the colder months and you are good to go.

I was searching for a cocktail dress that was on-trend but could be worn beyond this season when I found this dress. I am wearing my regular size, a small in this dress.

Fashion Tips

I love this color for Fall, while it’s custom to stick to darker colors such as wine, blue and black around this time of the year, why not try a subtle bright color like a pastel pink. Since I was exposing my shoulders (another way to show skin in a subtle way, versus showing your bosom or legs) I opted for tear drop earrings (old purchase from Zara) and skipped wearing a necklace.

Since this is a Fall inspired special occasion look, I wore my classic BB pumps by Manolo Blahnik in wine (now sold out). I would opt for a brighter color or nude shoes in the Summer or Spring.

I decided not to match my shoe and handbag which is what a lot of people tend to do. Matching your bag and outfit works perfectly too. My Rebecca Minkoff clutch is currently on sale for $63.
