It’s that sweet spot between peak season and the off season, when you can often find better prices, fewer crowds, and still enjoy great weather.

And honestly, some of my favorite trips have happened during this time.

The exact months will depend on where you’re going, so always do a little research before booking. But if your travel dates are flexible, checking shoulder season is one of the first things I recommend.

You could get the same destination, the same beautiful views, and the same experiences… just with fewer people and potentially for a lot less.

Save this for the next time you’re planning a trip. āœˆļø

This was our 6th birthday party ever, and this time, I really wanted her to choose the things she loved. @BaubleBar was such a natural part of it because she already loves their bracelets and making her own jewelry.

They provided the cutest bead kits for the girls to make bracelets and keychains, along with beautiful pouches personalized with each guest’s name to take all their goodies home in. The girls absolutely loved it!

Thank you #BaubleBar for helping us make her 13th birthday that much more special. And those personalized pouches? Let’s just say I was very tempted to snag one for myself. šŸ˜†

I linked the party kits and personalized pouches in my SHOP page/Stories along with a few more highlights from the celebration.

What Do You Mean….you’ve been traveling all this t What Do You Mean….you’ve been traveling all this time and nobody told you?!

Okay, let’s get into it because some of these can actually save you MONEY.

- Cancelled flight: This happened to me! Hotel, transportation AND food were covered and best believe I still got my €600 compensation! Know your passenger rights.

- 3+ hour delay: Contact the airline! I’ve used ChatGPT to draft the email requesting compensation, miles or a travel credit. It works.

- Basic Economy: A cheaper ticket doesn’t mean applicable passenger rights disappear. Get your refund, credit or compensation when you’re entitled to it.

- Pay in LOCAL currency: When that card machine asks USD or local currency, choose LOCAL. Let your card handle the conversion and please travel with a card with no foreign transaction fees.

-Kids’ (under 12)flights: Stop automatically paying the adult fare. Some international airlines offer discounted child fares. Always check.

- Luggage tracker: It’s 2026. A tracker goes in EVERY checked bag. Knowing where my luggage is when the airline doesn’t? Priceless.

- Need a passport FAST? Urgent passport services exist and, in some circumstances, you can get one VERY quickly. And pleaseeee check your passport BEFORE booking that trip.

- Airline loyalty: With these ridiculous flight prices?! I’d rather be loyal to flexible CREDIT CARD POINTS. More airlines, more options, better value.

- Overpackers: I say this with love… we are NOT paying $100 because you needed 17 outfits for a 5-day trip. Post coming because we need to get you together.

Which one had you saying ā€œwait… WDYM?!
SAVE this for your next trip and send it to your travel group chat.

And if planning the trip is the part you’d rather leave to someone else… that’s what @tiwalajo is for. We plan, you travel. #traveladvice

My top 5 beauty buys

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog:-) I am working on adding on a Wednesday post to my blog. I pray I follow through with it and update weekly, so help me God šŸ™‚ Today I am sharing  five of my favorite beauty products. These are the five items that I can’t live without,  items I would bring with me if I were ever stuck on a desert, lol.

Vaseline

I can’t remember a time in my life where I never used Vaseline. Growing up we used Vaseline on our bodies and now it is still  the first thing I apply on my lips when I get out of the shower. I also use it as an eye cream at night. It has so many amazing qualities and it is great for the whole family. More on its’ use here.

Innerbeautee Organic hand whipped Shea butter cream

I remember vividly when I went home to Nigeria for my sister’s wedding in late November 2013. I visited one of my girlfriends who had just started  a natural beauty line recently. She gave me some of her products to try and boy the addiction began then, lol. I ordered my next batch a month after. It is all everyone in my household use on their skin now.

I hadn’t been satisfied with my body lotion for a while so I figured I’ll give her 100%  Organic  Hand whipped Shea Butter lotion a try and honest to God, it is the best thing since slice bread. I am not saying this because I know the owner of this product and no I am not getting paid to write this. I am attesting to how amazing it is as a customer. It has done wonders for my skin. The glow on my skin is just different. My skin tends to be extra dry in the winter and this product has changed that. In the past I had to include coconut oil to my lotion to prevent dryness. My daughter has extreme dry skin and this shea lotion has changed that too. I love that it is organic and the oils she included in the product makes it extra special and gives it an amazing scent.

Clarisonic Brush

I heard about the revolutionary face brush over five years ago and I knew I needed to try it. I have used the same brush since then and I only replace the head every few months. I find myself always going back to this brush even when I abandon it for a few months. It does an amazing job of clearing build up on the skin and most importantly it makes your facial wash more effective. I have spent less money over the years on facials because of this amazing brush. It keeps blackheads away and does a a great job of unclogging my pores. What is so great about it now, is that it comes with different brush heads for all skin types and there is the Mia 1 which retails for $99. It is a great beauty investment that pay off over time.

Sunblock

One of the most important thing that you should do everyday is apply sunblock on your face and neck. My dermatologist told me about the importance of daily use of sunblock and I haven’t looked back since. It prevents premature aging, skin cancer, etc I preach about it every time I can, wear sunblock, yes even men too, lol.  It is never too early to start using sunblock either. I use it on my children. My go to sunblock is the Neutrogena Age shield face sunblock, it dries to the touch once you leave it for a few minutes. Read more about the importance of sunblocks here and here.

Ruby woo

It is no wonder it is one of the most popular beauty products sold by MAC. All I have to say is that Ruby Woo is the truth! I was looking for a great red lipstick a few years ago and the MAC specialist turned me to this shade of red. I have turned a few of my friends to this color too. I love matte lipsticks in general, so this was a no brainer. It is my go to lip color and it looks amazing on all skin colors. I wish it didn’t dry out my lips so much, but I prepare my lips with a light sugar scrub before applying it and once I take it off, I apply Vaseline and the dryness goes away!

What are some of your favorite beauty buys?
