How to Mix Prints for Spring

I am writing about mixing prints and textures today for Spring. One of my favorite thing about fashion is the liberty to express myself and my interpretation of fashion trends. Most of my adult life up until a few years ago, I shied away from colors. While I still love monochrome looks and my blacks and blues, I have has so much fun stepping outside from comfort zone. One of my mottos in Fashion is that, it should always be a fun way of telling the world something about you. My gingham skirt is from one of my favorite high street store Topshop while my one shoulder blouse is from Makemechic and is available for a steal.

When I received this pink plaid one shoulder bow blouse from Makemechic, I knew it would be a perfect way to show you how to mix prints effortlessly. If you are concerned about the quality from Makemechic, fret not I own quite a number of their pieces and I have had zero issues with them even after a wash cycle. My most popular look from February was entirely from them.

Rules for Mixing Prints & Textures

Decide on your focal point. For this look, both are textured fabrics in similar prints gingham & plaid.

Mix different textures but stick to similar colors like I did here.

Don’t go too color crazy or print crazy, here is a subtle way to mix colors

You can mix similar fabrics and colors, just make sure your proportions are different, like I did here.

Don’t go color crazy with your shoe choice, I always stick to neutral colors like nude, blacks and grays when mixing prints.
