How are you doing? Can’t believe we are in November already, where did the time go! Speaking of time, my kids were on Fall break a few weeks ago and during the week long break off school, we took a trip to Lanier Islands which is about an hour from Atlanta. For our road trip, I got to test drive the 2017 Mazda CX-5 courtesy of Mazda. This was my first experience with a Mazda and it left a lasting impression, from the leather interior, amazing features, to the color (soul red) of the exterior.
Packing for my family involves multiple suitcases so the big trunk space of the Mazda CX-5 came in handy. I was able to load up all our boxes plus other fun items like the beach ball you see in the photo. It was a nice change to have ample room (I drive a sedan.)
I love that you can create more space in this SUV by simply pushing the back seat forward using the latch located on the back of the seats. The retractable cargo cover is an optional feature available with this car. The Mazda CX-5 also comes with a spare tire and not a donut tire like most cars. It was reassuring to know this as I prepared for our road trip.
The backseat comes with latch child safety anchors which made it easy to place my children’s car seats. Unlike most cars that limit this feature to the front seats, the backseat of the 2017 Mazda CX-5 also comes with heated seats. How cool is that! Did I also mention it has heated steering wheels.
I connected my cell phone easily via Bluetooth and enjoyed listening to my music via the Bose 10 speaker system. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 also comes with a touch screen 7 inch color display which made it easy to navigate the functions of the car. How gorgeous is the leather trimmings on the dash board?
One of the highlights of our trip was the visit to the stables at Lanier Islands. My kids had an amazing time riding horses.
One super cool function in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 is the side console that allows you to control everything from music to the navigation system. It is a feature that I am used to seeing in luxury cars, so it was awesome to see this feature standard in the Mazda CX-5. While I love this feature, my favorite is the active driving display which lets you know your speed and the speed limit every time while driving. The traffic sign recognition is another cool feature. I was sad to see this car go honestly. It is a stylish car and perfect for my busy life as a mom and lifestyle blogger. For a BMW 5 series owner, I loved every bit of my time with this car.
If you’re considering getting a new car, definitely drive up to your Mazda dealership and test drive the CX-5. I would buy this SUV if I was in the market for a new car but till then, I will hold on to the memories. Thank you for reading, enjoy the rest of your day.
