BLOGGING: 4 lessons to embrace

Hey y’all, I was MIA last week in this space and I sincerely apologize, if you follow me on Instagram then you know I was out of the country on a media trip to Cancun just in time for Mother’s Day (which was amazing and I’ll be recapping later this week.) One milestone that you might not be aware of, that happened last month was my 4th-anniversary blogging. Yup it’s been four years of doing this consistently and to mark this milestone, I am sharing 4 things I have learned and you will find helpful whether you’re an influencer starting out or one who has been in the game for a minute. BLOGGING: YOU SHOULD KNOW

YOU ARE THE MAGIC

Never forget this, no one is like you and that is your greatest strength. Trying to be someone else is depriving the world of all the awesomeness that you embody so why waste time doing that? The more I tapped into that, the more I began to thrive.

Don’t ever forget that you’re the special sauce and don’t be afraid to be you.

DON’T WAIT ANOTHER DAY, JUST DO IT!

As one of my friends says, make sh*t happen, just do it! I registered my domain name years ago and didn’t do much because I was waiting for the perfect time, the ideal wardrobe, the right amount of followers, etc.

Time is the one thing we cannot have back, so if this is something you truly want, start today!

KNOW YOUR WHY

I never forget my WHY. Why I started this. Why I love blogging cos there will be many days where things won’t work out, where the NOs hurt,  where you will cry or maybe not (I am cry baby LOL) and be frustrated but your WHY never changes and that alone will take you far and will make you unshakable when the negative voices speak, when you’re unsure and when you’re being pushed in different directions. It’s the thing that will keep you grounded, it’s what keeps you going and it should never be money or free stuff. Cos there is more to life than stuff!

THERE IS ROOM FOR EVERYONE

The greatest deception is thinking that just because the influencer market is saturated, that there is no place for you. How many professions can you honestly say isn’t saturated with exceptions of a few high-level jobs? I think that is the case in general. Just like there are so many lawyers, that isn’t stopping a lot of college students from going to law school. SO if blogging is what you LOVE, go for it. Find your niche and create a community and everything will fall in place.
