When Subaru contacted me to review the new 2017 Impreza I was excited about the chance to test drive a car and more importantly my opinion was important to them. A friend asked what exactly I would be saying after all, I am no car expert and it dawned on me right there that that was the main reason I got this opportunity.
I am definitely no car expert but what I am is a woman, wife, mom, fashion & lifestyle blogger all titles that come with influence. I pretty much give the final okay before we buy any vehicles in my house and my decisions are usually based on well thought out research, cos women tend to do that:-)
Back to the review, I would start off by saying I wouldn’t have looked at a car with 5 doors or hatch back car twice (just more of a sedan kinda gal) but I have come to realize that it does come with an advantage such as more cargo space. It is also the more popular version of the Impreza among buyers. It came in handy during my photo shoots. I do a lot of my outfit changes in my car (the glamorous life of a fashion blogger, lol) so for a change it was nice to be able to see my clothes and shoes clearly without having to squint in the dark or stretch too far trying to grab my shoes or jewelry. Grocery shopping, soccer gears, chairs, etc all fit into the Impreza with no issues too. It made life easier.
I love the Harman Kardon audio system, the sound quality was pretty good.
By far my favorite feature about this car is its safety features which is what Subaru is largely know for and my experience with the 2017 Subaru Impreza car confirmed this. The EyeSight Driver Assistant Technology is as cliche as it sounds, very impressive.(Impreza, impressive, get it?) “It provides extra awareness, safety and added peace of mind every time you drive” exerted from their website and this summarizes the safety features. I loved that it alerted me when the vehicle in front of me had moved, I sit in traffic so often these days and often get distracted, it’s nice that the Subaru Impreza reminds me to start driving again.
To really see how this vehicle moved, I drove it to a winery, an hour away from Atlanta called Yonah Mountain Vineyard. It was a smooth ride to and fro and I really enjoyed how it maneuvered so well between lanes but I did experience a bit of road noise car. This is my first experience with a Subaru but I did a little bit of research and what I found out is that it that the noise level is better compared to past models.
I connected my phone with the STARLINK feature that came with the car without any issues and was able to download my phone and receive texts and make calls with ease.
