Hi Everyone and hope you had a wonderful weekend? Mine was awesome:) Spring is almost here so I have started my yearly spring cleaning. I looked into my closet and staring at me are lots of dresses I wore once and forgot about. I never have this problem with tops or pants. Am I the only one with this problem? I always tell myself I will wear them again but some how the perfect event never comes along. Perfect meaning “another major event” “minus the same people who saw me in the same dress” which never happens. Might sound a bit shallow but those are my rules, lol. I also try to do the following
A. Wear to church (this doesn’t work out all the time because some are just not church appropriate)
B. Give away to my sister (works sometimes, we aren’t exactly the same size)
C. Sit in my closet for another year, then give away
D. Plan to list on ebay to sell but never actually do it
What do you do to your clothes?
That being said, summer is almost here and I have quite a number of events I am attending which only means more new clothes I’ll probably wear once right!! I plan to shop differently this year say like less strapless and one shoulder dresses and more classic pieces that I can wear anywhere. I hope to stick to this at least 90% of the time, its just tough sometimes. Here are a few dresses I would love in my closet (am breaking my rules already). I am on a SHOPPING BAN at the moment (bought 2 items from my wish list) so all I can do is admire from afar, lol.
Ha! So I thought it was just me, but I don't like to wear the same dress to an event where I know people who have seen me in the same dress will be there! *covers face in shame* I will try to buy dresses I can wear different ways, such as pairing with a blazer or cardigan for spring or something. I still have dresses in my closet with tags on them. SAD.
i feel you on that, lol! i dnt like repeating clothes either, it sucks! but yea, what can we do. My trick tho is that i wear that same special number in a completely diff setting, for instance in another country( where i knw no one is likely to recognise the dress)lol! we women can be vain somtimes sha! kai!i love the yellow dress(first one) really pretty.
Now that you got 2 things off your wish list its time to focus on my wish list 🙂

God help us all…I have so many things in my closet that i haven't rocked.Some still have tags on them (and i gave out half of my wardrobe last year o)
I used to have that dilemma with dresses.Now, I mostly buy separates so i can pair them with different items at diff time and i can also dress them up or down. Per repeating outfits, i really do not care.I however, try to make my dresses look different by wearing them with different cardigans, blazers, with belt, without belt..Sometimes i even wear my short dresses as tops (i tuck it into a skirt)..There are many ways to re rock your dresses.
I actually do a pretty decent job of passing on a bunch of dresses from my closet yearly, just gave away a haul of stuff a couple weeks ago. 🙂
Well said. I joined the classic/timeless train a while ago. Try to maintain, but sometimes, those trendy pieces get in the way.
One thing I know works real well is, making sure I don't purchase something for a particular ocassion. Since i started doing that, the closet never disappoints. I find pieces that are carefully thought out and multiple-purpose friendly.

The wishlist is hot , l totally hate repeating clothes, welcome to the club knowing who likes everyone seeing one in the same outfit twice especially with websites like facebook on board….lol
the dresses look lovely , try to stick with the budget …wink!!!
It is hard but I go to so few events these days and also don't take a lot of pics that I think I can get away with "re-issuing". A bigger issue for me is whether they even fit! LOL

I thut I was often crazy for not wanting to repeat clothes and somehow you kinda don't wanna loose them just yet…I've been able to give out some but I hold on to some and tweak them into other styles…I try not to wear one outfit to same circle of ppl.
