Shameless plug for my business because apparently Shameless plug for my business because apparently I need to get better at actually telling y’all what I do. 😂❤️

This feels a little vulnerable to post, but here we are anyway. 🙏🏾

Yes, I travel a lot. Yes, I share a LOT of travel tips. But I also actually help people plan and book their trips through my travel company, Tíwàlàjò.

So whether you already know where you want to go in 2027 and need help pulling it all together, OR you just know you want to go somewhere but have absolutely no idea where 😂, I can help with that too.

Hotels, itineraries, experiences, recommendations and all those little details that can turn trip planning into a second job…I do this.

So consider this my very shameless, slightly uncomfortable plug to say: if you’re thinking about traveling in 2027, come talk to me. ✈️❤️

And yes, I’m posting this even though a tiny part of me wants to delete it.

We chose Iceland for our family summer trip because we wanted something different, and different is exactly what we got. The kind of trip that reminded us just how beautiful this planet is and had us wanting to stay outside, explore longer and see what was around the next corner.

My recap of the Painted Pink Annual Bruncheon

Hi,

Thank you for stopping by the blog today, today I am sharing my recap of a recent Breast Cancer fundraising brunch event I attended. Painted Pink is a  501c3 non-profit organization targeted to Millennial women to raise awareness, empower and provide help for the community re:Breast Cancer. It was started by Ann-Marie Appiah. The Painted Pink brunch is a yearly event held to honor survivors and supporters of the organization. Did you know that approximately two African American women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Metro Atlanta each day? What’s even scarier is that population of women is nearly 30 percent more likely to be diagnosed with late stage breast cancer than other women in the US, and 25 percent more likely to be diagnosed with late stage breast cancer than other women in different parts of Georgia. My experience at this event superseded my exception.

The event started with a mix and mingle for the first hour before everyone moved into the beautifully decorated room for the event to begin. After a short prayer, host of the day Cynne Simpson (Local News Anchor at Fox 5 Atlanta ) Introduced herself and got things started. We all grabbed brunch which was so yummy and sat down to listen to Breast Cancer Survivor Erin Clemons who shared her story. She was under 25 when she got diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We also heard from two-time survivor and founder of Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes, Shay Sharpe. Her organization grants wishes to women with stage four cancer. Her story touched me the most because this is a survivor doing incredible things and touching lives of cancer patients daily. Genetic Counselor, Dr Altovise Ewing shared the importance of knowing your family medical history. It shouldn’t stop at just knowing about it, she also encouraged having conversations about it and making lifestyle changes and being aware of medical choices that can make a difference.

We were entertained by Spoken words artist LaShanna Newton, Eagles Landing Dance Center, DJ Kandy and the girl group The GGs Band who shared a special song they put together for this organization (It’s an amazing song!) At the end of the performances Ann-Marie along with the other 4 phenomenal women who run Painted Pink came out to thank everyone who attended and shed more light about her God given vision and her determination to make it a success.

Here is my take away from this event, there is power in knowledge and anyone can make a difference. I loved that it was a co-ed event because Breast Cancer affects more than women. If you are looking for a non-profit organization to support, I’ll encourage to give to Painted Pink. Here are some of the amazing things they are doing with the fund.

-Financial Assistance for Local Breast Cancer Patients

-Financial Assistance for the Bruncheon

-Reserved funds for future needs, such as family members and caregivers following loss of Painted  Pink angels.

They have a goal of $20,000 this year, help them reach that goal, direct link here. Breast Cancer conversations should be beyond the month of October, be a part  of it! Thank you for reading, have a great weekend!
